Happy Saturday everyone! Please read below on important updates for next week, which is the last week of the 2022 calendar year! What an amazing year it has been at St. Jude!

The time has finally come! You will not want to miss this very special event! Our Advent Program has been a long standing tradition at St. Jude and we are very excited to have it come back after two years of Covid canceling the event. Our students have been working very hard on their lines and songs. Please join us on Thursday, December 15th at 6pm!

A few reminders:

• The program will be held in the church. We are anticipating a packed crowd for the event! Please be patient as we do our best to have everyone seated properly. Some sections will be reserved for students and staff. 

• We have a videographer filming the event. We will be sure to share this video with every parent that would like a copy. We ask that you do not videotape the play for the maximum enjoyment of all attending.

• Student drop-off will be at 5:30 at the student’s homeroom classroom. Doors will open at 5:45 and the play will start promptly at 6pm.

• There is absolutely NO sitting or standing in the aisles. Our students will be walking up and down the aisles frequently and need a clear space to walk. 

• At the end of the play, your child will remain with their teacher in the church. You must sign your child out with their teacher before leaving. 

• There will be NO saving seats earlier in the day.

Requested attire by grade:
K, 1st and 2nd - Christmas church attire & comfortable shoes
3rd - Plain white shirt (no logos), Dark pants or jeans (black or navy) & comfortable shoes
4th and 5th - Plain white T-shirt (no logos), Dark pants or jeans (black or navy) & comfortable shoes
6th and 7th - Boys: Plain white T-shirt and jeans, Girls: Plain white T-shirt or blouse and jeans

Note: Plain t-shirts are available at Michael's ($6) or Joanns ($5), no leggings for girls

Students may wear festive holiday attire for free dress day! Please be sure they wear sneakers to school. It is a noon dismissal with classroom pickup. There will be no day care provided on Friday only.  Please contact Mr. Freel if this is an issue for your child. 
 

Have you ever wondered during Sunday mass whether there was a way to bring the Scripture to our children at a level they can more easily understand and relate to?  Join the Children’s Liturgy of the Word team at the Sunday 10am mass!  This is an opportunity to earn service hours during Sunday mass while helping to share our faith with the youngest members of our St. Jude’s community.  The commitment is only one Sunday per month with flexibility to choose your weeks.  Reach out to Rick & Teresa Ysasi before the holidays if you’d like to explore this great opportunity to help advance our school’s mission - forming young people in the image of Christ.
 

Our very own 3rd grade TA Mrs. Cummings is offering to do a fun after-school art club with students in grades 1st-3rd. Students will create a fun art project for their family for Christmas that you will not want to miss. If your child likes art and would like to be a part of the very first Art Club meeting, please sign up using THIS GOOGLE FORM.

 Students will be making Snowmen for the Christmas season. This would be an incredible addition to your home holiday decor and even a gift for someone in your child’s life! We hope to see you there! Space is limited so please sign up today!

This event will be for students in grades 1st-3rd ONLY. We are limiting space to 30.
 

Purchase a box of See's Candy or your student's ornament HERE, and we will send them home with your student next week! The See's boxes were the perfect size for stocking stuffers or a little something to express your gratitude to someone special! 50% of proceeds returns to the school!

Are you interested in becoming Catholic?  The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process by which people can question, search and inquire into the Catholic faith.  At St. Jude, members of our parish partner with those who are journeying to become fully initiated Catholics (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation).  We recognize that people are in all different places in their journey and we are here to help you in any way we can.
