Fall Peer-led Discussion Group October 26!
Dear <<First Name>>,
We are thrilled to announce our fall peer-led discussion group in Toronto!
Following the positive feedback from our first peer-led discussion group that took place in June, we have decided to make these a regular feature over the next year at the OSRP.
Once again, our members have an opportunity to get together in real time and discuss a topic that is of interest and relevant to our respective practices.
When: Saturday, October 26, 2019
Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: 56 Fern Avenue, at the corner of Fern and Sorauren avenues in Toronto
Closest subway: Dundas West station, or 506 Carlton streetcar or 505 Dundas streetcar to Sorauren and Dundas Steet West and 5-7 minute walk from there.
RSVP: Vanessa Smith at email@example.com
Please indicate in your RSVP if you have accessibility concerns.
Please RSVP by October 7 to ensure you get a spot, as space is limited!!
For this discussion group, we propose discussing the CRPO's recent decision to discipline an RP whose client died by suicide. The link to the CRPO's decision can be found at:
Some things to think about for the discussion might include:
- As a therapist, what are our roles and responsibilities around clients who die by suicide?
- Should the CRPO be able to discipline a therapist if his or her client dies by suicide?
- What is your opinion about the way the CRPO handled the issue at hand?
- What is your experience with suicidal clients?
We look forward to hosting another important discussion. This discussion will inform work we do on advocating for therapists with the CRPO around disciplining RPs.
