On Nov 13, 2017, I filed with the Travis County Democratic Party to run for Texas House of Representatives, District 47. This is the only Republican held district in Travis County.

People keep saying the odds are against me.
To quote Han Solo, "Never tell me the odds!"

Many people are coming forward to join our campaign.

To be frank, campaigning and serving in office
are two different jobs.

Campaigning is part popularity contest and part mastering the issues. For the latter, I do my research. Learn about my stance on the issues from my videos, public appearances and candidate forums like the one December 11 noted below.

The popularity contest part depends a lot on name recognition. Social media combines with old school printed hand outs, mail outs and signs to get the public familiar with your name. So when they vote, Sheri Soltes rings a bell. That is where the fundraising goes.
