UNENDING STORIES OF PERSECUTION FROM OUR FIELDS
While some of the murders of Christians receive media attention, the continued persecution that occurs throughout India usually goes undetected by the outside world. And in places like Bihar where the Christian population is less than 0.5 percent, persecution is like a way of living for the native Christians.
It is with this knowledge that every day, HIM missionaries and volunteers set out to their respective fields. All of them are aware that doing so could result in physical harm or even martyrdom.
Rivals of the Gospel attack missionary and sexually assault his wife
The depicted WhatsApp screenshot was sent by Pastor Chotelal one of our missionaries to Rev. E.A. Abraham requesting immediate assistance and prayer. Below is a rough translation of the Hindi text.
“Sir Praise the Lord. Last Sunday evening (25/09/2022), three members of the Bajrang Dal (A Hindu militant group) came to my home to attack me. As they started the confrontation, one of them, without my notice, intruded into our bedroom and tried to sexually misbehave with my wife. He caught her by the arm. However, she hold out against the attack and somehow managed to push him forward and close the door. That night, she was so weak and terrified that she even forgot to inform me what happened, and fell asleep. The next morning, she didn't get up from sleep. The previous night’s encounter had a huge impact on her mental as well as physical health. Because of that, she was unconscious the whole night. Her blood pressure was very low and was in a critical state. I immediately rushed her to the nearest hospital where she recovered to normal health. It was at the hospital that she explained everything that had happened. I immediately reported the case to the police and all three men were taken into custody. At the police station, they were made to sign on the police register acknowledging that they would do no more harm to me and my family. But they have been chasing me for many years and I don’t know what to do now. please pray for me and my family’s safety”
Hope India Mission is humbly requesting your earnest prayers for Pastor Chotelal and his family.
Prabhu Ram (seen on left), a believer volunteer from HIM’s Sabaya church, is another victim of this month. While he walking next to a public road in front of our local church, Ram was attacked with a metal chain on his head. Some rivals of the Gospel were already creating problems by warning believers in front of the church a few minutes ago Ram walked by. Ram was severely attacked because the rivals saw him as the only Christian around them at that moment. HIM’S Sabaya congregation is one of the prominent congregations of our ministry. Please uphold the Church and Ram in your prayers.
Missionary in Ladakh has to sign at the police station every day!
Angchuk, our missionary in Ladakh, has a different burden on his back. A few days ago, he shared this testimony with his Buddhist neighbor and he gifted them an N.T at their request. However, another Buddhist neighbor came to know about it and filed a case at the local police station. The police charged him with forced religious conversion and threatened him with further consequences if he continued to share about Christ.
From that day onwards, Angchuk has to visit the police station and sign the register every day. Such disciplinary action is only imposed on murderers, terrorists, and chronic criminals. This is the category that Pastor Angchuk now also falls under. Unless he doesn't visit the police station every day and put his signature on, he will be imprisoned.
Please uphold our persecuted brethren in your daily prayers.

A PROJECT PROPOSAL FOR PRAYER & CONSIDERATION
HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECT AMONG TRIBALS OF CHHATTISGARH
Raised $ 5,000 requires another 28,000 urgently
UPDATE: Need your urgent prayer and support. There was a 3½ acre land available for purchase at the project location. One of our benefactors donated $33,000 and with that amount, we purchased half the property's portion (1.75 acres). We made a down payment for the other half (1.75 acres) and the complete payment must be made before 30th October 2022 (The deadline is already passed, so it's urgent). In August, we received a donation of $5,000 for this project. We are still praying and looking forward to one or more donors for another $28,000. Would you kindly either sponsor that amount or be a part of it?
Please watch the below video to learn about the project
A severe financial crisis in three years at Hope India Mission
God has blessed Hope India Mission with more than 300 salaried staff and hundreds of volunteers who are actively involved in the expansion of our Lord’s kingdom. Apart from allowances and salaries, we require finances to pay for food and travel assistance to volunteers depending on the area and nature of their work. Therefore the general operational expenses alone will come to around $30000 per month. This doesn’t include projects or administrative expenses.
August was a hard time for the mission. All the salaries were put on hold. September 10 was the payout day but we are yet to make any payment (This is already October now) due to a lack of funds. . We urgently need some extra funds to pay off the dues now.
Please pray for good financial stability so that there may not be any hindrances to the ongoing ministry. Joshua 13:1 says “ There is much more land to be conquered”
