A Message from our Booster Co-Presidents

As the school year is nearing the end of the 1st semester, your PHS Pirate Boosters continue its committment to our mission of enhancing the high school experience of PHS students. To reach our full potential we need your support. If you’ve joined the PHS Pirate Boosters we thank you. Your commitment is vital to our success. Just a few weeks ago, the Boosters hosted their annual Craft Fair at PHS on November 4th. With over 150 vendors, and despite periods of downpouring rain, many people came from near and far to attend this annual event. Thanks to the many volunteers who helped out with set-up, breakdown, concessions, bake sale, and the School Store to make the day a success. A special thanks goes out to the amazing Building Maintenance staff who have always been a huge part of the day.

Please mark your calendars for the PHS Pirate Booster Annual Dinner Auction to be held at the Cotillion on March 9.Those who attended last year’s event enjoyed a memorable evening. As Thanksgiving and the holidays approach, we reflect on the year, friendships formed and memories made. Thank you very much to our Faculty Homecoming Breakfast Volunteers Kris Ahlgrim, Kerri Bloom, and Kathy Paquette who had the pleasure of serving the booster club sponsored breakfast to our wonderful PHS faculty and staff!
 
Thank you also to our Homecoming Dance Coat Check volunteers Gary Anderson, Kim Anderson, Denise Harrison, Lisa Helminski, Deborah Inman, Nettie Nahulak, Cindy Neurnburg, Lisa Patano, Stacey Piper, Jenette Runge, Sally Smith, Paula Vitale, and Sharon Wurtz who checked 554 bags of student's belongings while serving water and refreshments that night!
The Support Activities committee is looking for volunteers to check belongings and serve refreshments at the Winter Dance Coat Check on February 24th.

PHS BOOSTER CLUB 2017-18 SCHOLARSHIP

The PHS Pirate Booster Club is now accepting applications for its 44th annual Scholarship Program. These scholarships will be awarded to deserving members of the Palatine High School graduating class of 2018 wishing to further their education. Up to 13 graduating seniors may receive a $1,000 scholarship. Twelve of these scholarships are named in honor of Fred Zajonc. Mr. Zajonc was a community leader, a village trustee, and a long-time member and past president of the Booster Club who worked tirelessly to generate parent and community support of Palatine High School. The additional scholarship, the “Charlotte M. and Robert C. Donahue Millennium Scholarship” was donated by PHS alumni, Andy and Patrick Donahue, in honor of their parents, the late Charlotte and Robert Donahue.


 


Applicant Requirements

Must be attending a 4-year college/university, 2 year community college or a certified trade/vocational school.
Minimum 2.0 GPA. If applicant has less than a 2.0 average, but has extenuating circumstances, please submit completed application along with a separate typed statement of explanation.
 
Selection Criteria


The scholarship committee is looking for students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, academic excellence, service and volunteerism at Palatine High School and in the community.
 

Application process opens December 1, 2017 and closes February 22, 2018.

School Store Hours
  • Tuesday, December 12 from 5:30-8pm for incoming PHS frosh night. 
  • Wednesday, December 20 from 6:30-8:30pm
  • We are open most days during the lunch hours. 
Please call 847-755-1907 to see if we have a volunteer opening the store.
The Palatine High School Pirate Booster Club exists to support and enrich the high school experience for our children while they attend Palatine High School.
