2020 ADAM Annual Meeting Rescheduled to July

The ADAM Board of Directors and its tremendous management team at SAMI has made the difficult decision to reschedule the 2020 ADAM Annual Meeting in Denver to
July 12–14.

The decision to reschedule was not taken lightly and was the result of many hours of discussion and negotiations with the Denver Hilton City Center, as well as those affected by this decision: our valued members, sponsors, exhibitors and meeting faculty.

Due to the deepening concerns around travel and large group gatherings as it pertains to the COVID-19 virus, ADAM has seen several meeting registrants, exhibitors and faculty cancel their attendance at next week’s meeting. These cancellations jeopardized our ability to present the high quality content that our members deserve and expect from our conference. Additionally, we hold the health and safety of all our attendees, their communities and the patients they serve with the utmost importance.

Why reschedule?

I specifically want to address the rescheduling of the meeting versus cancelling the meeting. ADAM is not a privately held entity, and its success over 25+ years has been built on the back of our loyal membership. The circumstances with respect to COVID-19 is unprecedented and unforeseen. The financial impact to outright cancel this year’s meeting would have been catastrophic to ADAM. Fortunately, ADAM is a small and nimble organization. Rescheduling our meeting is an opportunity that is not afforded to larger organizations.

I also ask for your patience in the coming days as our management team at SAMI continues to work through the mechanics of this reschedule. We will have more information with respect to attendee registrations later this week. My sincere hope is that many of you will be able to attend these new dates for exclusive education and networking opportunities.

Please cancel your hotel booking with the Denver Hilton City Center. We will send the new July reservation link in a separate communication. Also, reach out to your airline provider for their cancellation and rescheduling policy.

I want to thank you for your patience and support as we work on solving a complex and evolving situation. I also want to publicly thank all our support staff at SAMI, especially our interim Executive Director Tara Azzano, and for the many, many hours of work they have put into this meeting. Please be kind when interacting with our management team. These are difficult and constantly shifting conditions. I also want to thank our Board of Directors for voluntarily giving so much of their time and thoughtful consideration to this significant situation.

Sincerely,

Tony Davis
