$10.5M NATION-WIDE COMMITMENT TO MS RESEARCH

Each year MSWA is able to continue our commitment to neurological research locally, across Australia and worldwide. By funding a variety of projects through different institutions, we hope to continue to make real differences for real people living with a neurological condition.

As part of last year’s financial allocation, we contributed $2.1m to MS Research Australia (MSRA) to form part of their $10.5m national boost towards multiple sclerosis (MS) research.

TAKING A BREAK IN OUR RESPITE HOUSES

MSWA has two great respite facilities, one at City Beach (5 bedrooms) and one at Australind (6 bedrooms), with staff providing 24/7 care and support for our Customers living with a neurological condition.

Take the opportunity to have a break from your in-home schedule and/or give your carer some downtime.

If you would like more information about the facilities, how to book and what to expect please call the below numbers during office hours:

Many of our Customers have funding allocated in their plans (NDIS or CoS) to cover their stay. Please chat with our staff about how your stay could be funded.

WOMEN'S HEALTH WEEK

It’s Women’s Health Week next week (7-11 September).

MS Australia are hosting a variety of online sessions that you can get involved in!

You will hear from Deidre Mackechnie (CEO of MSA), a range of experienced health professionals and a mindfulness teacher.

MS CARER SUPPORT GROUPS (facilitated by MSWA Counsellors)

Are you caring for a loved one living with MS? The role of being a carer can be challenging and stressful.

These support groups are being offered to people living in the community (including regional WA via online video conference) who identify as a carer of someone diagnosed with MS.

Obtain support and meet others in a similar situation.

When: First, third and fourth Thursday of the month – 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm
Where: Como, Currambine and via video conference
